Notice of Vacancy

 
The position of Treasurer for the City of Highland Park has become vacated, and it is incumbent upon the Highland Park City Council to name a replacement until such time as a special election may be held.
In order to be eligible to be the City Treasurer, an individual must comply with applicable provisions of the Highland Park City Charter, including the following qualifications:
  1. The individual must be at least twenty-five (25) years of age and have been a registered elector in the City of Highland Park for at least one (1) year.
  2. The individual may not be in default to the City of Highland Park or County of Wayne.
  3. The individual may not have violated election laws, including violation of oath of office, in the preceding ten (10) years.
  4. The individual may not have been convicted of a felony for dishonesty, deceit, fraud, or a breach of the public trust while holding an elective office or a governmental position, in the past twenty (20) years.
  5. The individual may not hold another office or employment with the City of Highland Park.
  6. The individual must be able to obtain a surety bond as may be required by Highland Park City Council.
