Special Election

The City of Highland Park will conduct a Special Primary Election to be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 to nominate candidates for the unexpired City Council District 1 seat, term ending December 31, 2022.  Qualified registered electors in District 1 which contains Precincts 1 & 2 must file not later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
 
Nominating petitions containing a minimum of 100 signatures from registered electors in District 1 only, may be submitted or a $100.00 non-refundable filing fee may be paid in lieu of petitions.
 
Only registered electors in District 1 (Precinct 1 and Precinct 2) are eligible to file as a candidate.
 
Petitions may be picked up at the City Clerk’s Office, Robert B. Blackwell Municipal Complex, 12050 Woodward Ave. Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Friday’s 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
 
Only signatures from electors in District 1 (Precinct 1 and Precinct 2) will count as valid on nominating petitions.
